Poised on the Cutting Edge of the 21st Century

KAIZEN can be defined as a continuous, incremental improvement in an activity in order to create more value with less MUDA (i.e. waste) by using continuous flow small lot production. Small "cells" of workers are responsible for all phases of production.

By evaluating every element of a company's value stream activity, Kaizen seeks to continually improve product development, order staking, and production activities in order to produce steady results along the path to "perfection". As a result, any activity flows better, and pulls more smoothly.

In Kaizen activities, workers inspect their own work, develop multiple skills, and participate in periodic job design. Also, the development of simple operator assist mechanisms can reduce levels of worker stress and fatigue.

In Kaizen, efforts to improve the process should never stop, or become a steady state scenario.
